Born in Magenta(MI), Italy, he graduated with honor from the Milan Conservatory of Music, under the guidance of Primo Borali.

The meeting with great teachers such as Karl Leister, Thomas Friedli, Walter Boykens, Johannes Peitz, Hans Deinzer, was extremely important for his formation.

He was awarded the following prizes:first prize in the international competition of Stresa (both in the “solo” and “duo” section)-first prize in the international competition of Ancona – first place in the national competition for State Conservatory teaching positions.

He has been principal clarinet of the Scala Theatre Orchestra (seasons ’86, ’89), and was chosen by Sergiu Celibidache as first clarinet of the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra(’88).

As solost he performed with the Radio Orchestra of Milan, the Chamber Orchestra of Bristol,the chamber orchestra Ensemble Zandonai and the “Solisti Veneti” (of which he is presently the principal clarinet) for important festivals such as “Mostly Mozart” in New York,”Italy in China” in Pechin,and more..

He concertizes in Italy and abroad with chamber music groups such as the “American String Quartet”,the “ Kegelstatt Trio”(with wich he recorded the complete works for clarinet, viola and piano for the Freiburg Radio in Germany) and with great musicians such as Sergio Azzolini, Bruno Canino, Radovan Vlatkovich.

He presently has a teaching position at the Conservatory of Trento,Italy.
