MUSICAL AND SYMPHONY INSTITUTION OF FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA – FVG Orchestra

FVG Orchestra is a recently born symphony orchestra, founded at the behest of the Italian Region Friuli Venezia Giulia in order to gather the musical inheritance of the many realities belonging to this border area – rich in musical traditions.

Since its foundation, the orchestra makes an active contribution to the spreading of classical music and enhancing creativity in the local and national area. It gives concerts in the main theatres of the Region: Teatro Rossetti di Trieste, Teatro Nuovo Giovanni da Udine, Teatro Verdi di Pordenone, Teatro Verdi di Gorizia, but also widely in theatres and venues of the area.
Despite the unfavorable times for international projects, FVG Orchestra gave concerts in Hungary (in the venue which used to be the seat of the Hungarian Parliament and the prestigious Vigadò Concert Hall), Slovenia (hosted by Ljubljana Festival) and Austria (guest of Congress Center Villach).
It continuously collaborates with the most important musical competitions of the Region (Piano FVG, Piccolo Violino Magico, Premio Rodolfo Lipizer, Concorso Internazionale Città di Porcia) and renowned festivals as Mittelfest, Risonanze, Carniarmonie, Festival Internazionale dell’Operetta di Trieste, Festival Internazionale di Musica Sacra di Pordenone, Emilia Romagna Festival.

The Orchestra hosted soloists of the calibre of: Denis Kozhukhin, Steven Isserlis, Claudio Bohórquez, Zia Hyunsu Shin, Maxim Rubtsov, Freddy Kempf, Rémi Geniet, Andrey Baranov, Ji Young Lim, Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi, Erica Piccotti, Adriano Del Sal, Sonia Prina, Massimo Mercelli, Daniela Barcellona, Annamaria Dell’Oste, Piano Duo Silver/Garburg, Stefan Milenkovic, Janoska Ensemble, Alessandro Quarta, Elia Cecino, Alice, Simone Cristicchi.

During its activity, FVG Orchestra has been conducted by Nicola Piovani, Florian Krumpöck, Vinzenz Praxmarer, Nir Kabaretti, Grigor Palikarov, Sergey Smbatyan, Stephan Zilias, Dmitry Yablonsky, Daniel Raiskin, Massimiliano Caldi, Andrea Gasperin, Alessandro Vitiello, Marco Titotto, Romolo Gessi, Gianna Fratta, Carlo Guaitoli.

The Principal Guest Conductor is M° Paolo Paroni, already Principal Guest Conductor of the New York City Ballet Orchestra and guest conductor in plenty of Symphonic Institutions in Italy and abroad.
